I need some info on how to remove the drum brakes on my car trailer please, as I have beaten the crap out of the drum but it doesnt want to budge. The silver bit in the middle of the drum unscrews to reveal a locking nut and a heap of bearing grease, I assume the bearings are under there, do those bearing need to be removed for the drum to come off or am I just not trying hard enough ?

Sorry, no video on sand, camera went flat.
Driving was super easy due to so much rain lately. Even the Terios powered through without a hitch.

The bigger tyres have impacted on my towing ability but at least I can comfortably cruise at 110km. Even cruised with trailer and AC at 120km, lots of surprised faces as we overtook others with the full rig

I noticed a big sap of power in mine, when I fitted some remould mudders.
The extra rolling weight, poor balancing, and a poor tread design,
I really felt it.
(Vit has 2 fitted also.)
Trailer and Vit will get real tyres next year, after I paid off the Vit.

More so the larger circumference that's slowed things down.

I stripped the canvas off yesterday so I can fit the flip-top kit.
Also thinking of spinning the tent 180 degrees so the fridge mount and draw bar are under the awning.

I realise larger diameter slows things,
but mine had 31's already,
I meant the change of tyre type,
from a quality mudder,
to a cheap remoulded tyre.
remoulded tyre was easily 8kb heavier

I'm doing some jerry can holders next.
Hoping for a Big Desert trip soon.

Yet to work out where to put all the crap that's in the garage though, so I can get it out of the back yard...

Will see how she tows with the bigger tyres. Don't think it's gone anywhere since I upgraded the axle, matched track width to the Zook and put the stock Zook tyres on. Hopefully might be a bit less load on the bearings, what with the bigger bearings and less RPM for a given speed.

I removed a leaf from my springs, (rated at 750KG a pair)
watching the video, and the reversing camera,
I noticed trailer bounces off the ground too much,
even when loaded.

Tows much nicer now,
and still has plenty of support when loaded.
Trailers built to less than 500kg total weight anyway..

i'm running a lightened spring pack & watching the trailer in the reverse cam it seems to work well only kicking up on spoon drains etc with some speed up & on decent ruts & pot holes off road.

so when is the big trip?

Clubs having a Big Desert/Border Track trip.
Would be around June, but no date yet.
I'd like to go on that,
before trying a Simpson Crossing.
No date for that trip yet, either.

Time for me to stop spending and start saving.
