Hi all i have just become the proud owner of a 97 Vitara Estate.

I purchased from a caryard who told me it was 1.6 4 cyl. but it arrived and had the h20a under the bonnet :peaceout: Armsup

anyway i have already ordered the calmini 3" lift kit, but this is for the 1.6. so i gave the guy a call and asked if the different engine changes the kit, to which he replied....

he asked if my vit was a wide track or not?????? is there a wide track model and how do i tell what i have????
any help will be greatly appriecated as i need to find out so i can get the extra parts for my suspension kit.

Cheers Starky

yes it's a "widetrack" model code SV620

the calmini kit will need the diff drop brackets modified, the cross member clearanced for the diff drop & i'd also be chasing up the GV front springs from the calmini 2.5" lift kit to take the weight of the motor

you ordering from 4wdUSA?

Don't worry, I wasn't really paying attention to WHERE he got the parts from, only that the dealer said that they sell a kit that allows the fitment of the calmini parts into an SV vitara. I didn't know that there was a 'KIT' ( assuming that is the diff drop brackets) for this purpose. :?

i'm guessing they'll just be modding the RHS bracket & supplying a spacer for the LHS, you'll still need to clearance the crossmember.

ball joints, the bolts/nuts/washers for the ball joints, longer bolts for the modded RHS bracket, a head bolt from a celica for the LHS bracket, RHS bracket to be modded & a spacer turned up for the LHS, GV coils from the 2.5" calamari lift + modded crossmember
