Is there a effective way to get more power out of the g13b engines with out sacrificing fuel economy, id rather keep the standard engine

with any engine, you can get some performance gains through :
better exhaust systems (extractors and free flowing exhaust),
better carby, injection, air filtration etc. or getting your carby well set up and tuned properly by someone who knows what they are doing.
but realistically- any impressive gains of underbonnet ponies is to be at the cost of fuel consumption.

if it was me- I would be sorting out the exhaust first,

then cleaning the accumulated crap out of the engine using engine oil flush, redex or similar to loosen up carbon in combustion chambers) then change the oil and filter.

follow that by cleaning up the fuel delivery system- clean sediment and crap out of the tank, fresh fuel filters, make sure the fuel pump is running to full specification, no leaks anywhere, use decent fuel- my last few cars have all run much better- and with better economy using 95 octane fuel in comparison to standard unleaded (91 octane)

bung on a fresh air cleaner, new plugs- make sure your plug leads are ok etc.

then go and get it dyno tuned.

There is no point dyno tuning your car if the exhaust is dodgy, engine is full of carbon, the fuel pump is struggling to feed crappy fuel through a stuffed filter on the way to a carby that is junk, while 2 1/2 year old plugs are having a hard time getting spark through leads that are due for ditching.

All the little things add up (or subtract) when it comes to performance!
(Ask Alien how much difference new plugs can make!)
