Up forsale is my 1979 suzuki LJ80. I'm the second owner (the first being my dad) and it has a genuine 38,***kms on it. As it can be seen in my build thread the LJ was in a very sorry state before I rebuilt it, it took about 18 months to rebuild and it now looks and drives great. I've spent alot of time and money on this thing so selling it isn't something I'am really keen on but the money is needed for a new car and I can no longer afford to own two cars.

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8443

-F10A (1L) engine from a 96 Maruti. Top end rebuild by previous owner with shaved head and higher compression ratio.
-Full bare metal paint job in protec cammo green. Not a show car job but still looks decent.
-sand blasted and painted chassis
-New wildcat extractors with new full exhaust system.
-recond radiator, new coolant hoses, thermostat ect.
-new clutch and new bearings and seals in gearbox. (thrust bearing a bit noisy)
-new sealed centery battery
-2 inch suspension lift, included: new springs, bushes, shocks, u-bolts, shackles.
-rebuilt front diff with front sierra disc brake/free wheeling hubs upgrade, included: New swivel hub seals, king pin bearings, axle seals, new disc’s, pads, and rebuilt calipers. Also new sierra master cylinder.
-rebuilt rear diff with sierra drum brake upgrade, Included: new wheel bearings and seals, brake pads, new wheel cylinders.
-new lengthened brake lines front and rear.
-30inch BFG km2’s 95% on 30x7 black king rims.
-new bar tread spare tyre on powder coated factory rim.
-new windscreen
-Alpine MP3 CD player with 6inch Rockford fostgate speakers.
-solid front bar with recovery points.
-ARB space case
-GME uhf
-New bikini top from germany
-New drag link and all other steering rod dust boots replaced
-Car comes with 6 months rego
-comes with spare parts (gearbox, soft tops)
-factory user manual
-full factory doors
..other stuff that I can't remember at the moment.

problems with car:
-blows a bit of smoke on cold start with full choke on (valve stem seals). Once choke is off it doesn't blow any smoke at all, even under load.
-accelerator cable a bit sticky after a long drive. cheap and easy to replace.
-thrust bearing sometimes noisy (noise comes and goes)
-brakes squeak a little even though they are all new. Probably needs some anti squeak stuff (copper grease?) behind the pads.

has 6 months rego. Price: SOLD

thanks,
Lach.

If this was on the east coast I'd already be driving home!

Good luck with the sale.

i took it for a test drive last night - man it goes hard! the 1L motor makes it such a nice driver, you could drive it every day.

unfortunately i can't buy it though, nice as it is =(

Lach said he was going to list it on gumtree over the weekend, so anyone else interested you better get in quick.

it wasnt even that... Em actually said i could buy it if i really wanted to (you could tell she didnt want me to though) - but theres so many other issues with me owning it as well - i'd need to store it somewhere cos there's no room at my house, add to that the ongoing costs of rego etc which is why i got rid of my little mazda a few years ago, i'd be in a much tighter financial situation as well.

Theres one other niggly thing in the back of my mind that struck me on my drive home last night as well, and that's that i actually enjoyed driving my sierra more than the LJ - whether its just because im used to the sierra or not im not sure, but i think my sierra layed a guilt trip on me as well.

I'm really surprised theres not a line out the door of people wanting to buy this LJ though, because in real life it really is spectacular.

why doesnt someone in QLD arrange the freight and get it done then? Sure, it'd add $1k to the price shipping it over, but still a good buy for the right person. The new rims & new tyres on it alone are worth over $1k.
