Dave Metcalfe announced a few weeks ago that Qld Transport have changed body lift approvals from a full Transport inspection to just a blue mod plate from an approved person.

Cool, I bought mine with a body lift already installed so I have nfi if it's been inspected but I'll get it done when I get my engine and seats once they are in.

Does anyone know if 50mm blocks can be installed without new bolts?
I was informed that the originals fit?

Lift will require new bolts.

Where's the cheapest place to buy them?
Anyone have dimensions? How many in a swb vitara?

The guy I bought my body lift was positive the stock ones worked. Maybe he already had the longer ones.

Pretty sure the 'Approved Person' doing the mod plate will require new bolts anyway.

In a vitara you will need some female bolts like a Sierra

Any one know what the ruling is for modfying the chassis outriggers to lift the body rather than using blocks to lift the car?

Just call it a chassis repair, and leave it at that. :wink:

Some can be done. The guy that approved mine said as long as none of the sensors are moved or affected

Swifty, do your blocks have a tapped hole to screw onto the body studs? You would need ordinary bolts if that were the case.

That makes no sense twitchy, body lift usually refers to lifting body from chassis. If you are talking about air bag suspension I know of two vehicles registered and complianced in Brisbane with full airbag suspension an I don't mean a load assisting air bags inside a coil spring, I mean full air bag no springs at all.

I think he mean cars with crash airbags
Lifting the body off the chassis can stop them working proply if they are crush cans
If they have a acelorometer they shold still work

These are my blocks

They are out of a lwb vitara. He assured me stock bolts work so I believe he's right. Not sure how though?
They are very large though :/

I don't see how. The OEM body stud is not long enough to go through that block, and your body rubbers.

And are some of the blocks hacked? Whoever sold you these is a shithead. :roll:

Yeah they are ground because something about the front fouling on something because of the diameter of the blocks.
