had a look on google but couldnt find anything. not sure if it even exist, but can you get some sort of chemical that you can put on a car and leave it on to strip the paint gradually over a period of time, like cracks the paint and falls off? would like the paint to come of a bit easier when it comes to sand blasting it.
sand blaster uniti have not the best but it works, just be easier if the paint was crusty. what will happen if you leave paint stripper on? just dries up and paint goes hard again?

i no what paint stripper is. ive used it alot, but i want some thing you can leave on and not clean it off. like i said probally doesnt exist.

the plastic wrap does wonders, another tip is to give the paint a quick scuff with 80 grit to break up the surface, it will give the paint stripper even more bite.

does paint stripper not eat glad wrap? i've seen what it does to cheap metal shelves when left for a few weeks where the can leaked obviously your not talking that period of time, but you get what im asking...

a word of warning to all
paint stripper contains carcinogenic chemicals so its not good for you, and be super carefull not to get it on yourself and then touck any painted object, even traces of the stuff will destroy your paint work

Mates I've used paint stripper alot if you leave in on the metal it will crack cumble and shrink the paint and will dry if your going to sand blast it after it might be a little easier but what I would do is put the paint stripper on with a cheap paint brush or a old one because it's going to be wrecked after leave it on for ten or so minutes use a sharp cabinet or paint scraper to scrape it off then use thinners to clean it up no easy way out of it trust me I know and use gloves and preper to make a mess

done this method to the last 2 cars i painted, paint stripper is a big f#*k around. only good for big flat areas. it gets way to messy in tight and awkward spots. just wanted to get the paint rough and scalely, so its easier for the sand blaster.

its been resprayed twice i would like to go right back to the first coat. paint stripper is still messy shit

be very carefull sand blasting , its very easy to warp the panel on thin panels or large flat areas.
I own my own blaster and have warpped panels myself by mistake.

Wouldn't the solution be to get the jams and fiddly bits blasted and chemical strip the flat bits.

Yeah jas like I mention above, flat spots are easy with stripper so I'll do that, and ajsr the sand blaster just has enough go to get the paint off. It shouldn't warp the panels but I'll keep an eye out for it.
