Hey guys, I know the auto locker thing has been done to death... so will keep it quick! I have a 95 swb sierra which I'm building at the moment, and have just pullled the rear centre out to have the pinion bearing and seals replaced. Just thinking while it's out, I may as well chuck in a locker while there working on it (meaning take to a pro diff guy). I have had a Lockright in the front of an old Hilux of mine, and loved it so thought about giving a spartan locker a go. But I'm just a little worried I will get the shits with it after awhile in the rear of a shorty zook, and wish I went air. It will be wearing 31's with 6.5's in the transfer, and wont be daily driven yet will still be driven on-road a bit. Any advice from people who are in a similar place would be awesome, as I haven't driven a truck with a rear auto locker, and don't know anyone who has so I can just try for myself.

Cheers Ev

Best bet might be to take someone else's for a drive with a similar setup and see what you reckon.

If you don't like it you can put the old bits in and sell the locker. :)

Personally I'm thinking of double spartan in the sierra once funds are ready!

I put a Spartan in the front of my Sierra a couple of months ago and I love it.

Got the same questions as you mate. Everywhere I've looked at most of the people say yes, so I'm going to give one a go. Ebay seems to be the cheapest place I've found so far delivered for about 260

Yeah it's sounding like a real winner! Thanks for the encouragement guys haha. I guess worst case, if I hate it I can chuck it in the front when I get chromo cv's and run an air locker in the rear. Will put my first order in with LROR on pay day and let you know how it goes.
