Just wonder if any of you good people out there know the difference in engine weight between the J20a & H20a's?

Specifications on carpoint says the kerb weight for a 2003 SQ420 manual is supposedly 1360kg versus 1405kg for a 2003 SQ625 manual.

45kgs difference between engines seems about right considering how much more crap there is in a DOHC V6 compared to a DOHC 4cyl.

A V6 weighs a 1.3 more than a 2.0 4 cyl..?

I can pick up a J20. I'd be suprised if the H20 weight over 20kgs more....

The SQ625 would have the steel front diff where the SQ420 wouldn't, so that probably counts for a good 10kg on its own. I'd imagine the heavy stock exhaust manifolds & y-pipe would be a good 5+ kilos more than the J20A version also.

The 2000 GV owner's manual I have lists the weights as 1300~1370kg for the 2.0 and 1390~1450kg for the 2.5 - quite a bit more than the 45kg difference mentioned earlier.

h20 is a two man lift. j20 a one man. the difference between a h20 and h25 is nothing though. DO it

the H25a will end up in there eventually, but hopefully not too soon with only 85k on the clock.

i'm trying to work out if my calmini 2.5" GV front springs are going to hold up to the extra weight of the H20a compared to the J20a.

I would think so because they are designed for a gv arent they?

Being calmini who would know though.

Give it a shot but who knows as said I've got my eye on 40mm gv springs think will give around 2.5 of lift hopefully atleast that's going off the ome catalogue
