I am wanting to do a rear disc brake conversion.

I have done a forum search using the terms 'jimny rear disc conversion handbrake' and the result say 'ignored: rear jimny' (even when I use '+' in front of all terms)

Will the Sierra kits fit directly to Jimny or are they too different. BenT's kit looks good. Will this do the job?

Other than BenT's, what kits are out there and what callipers are commonly used? I asume that front rotors are always used as they have the stud pattern.

Rubbish kit. Can't go wrong with one of BenT's kits (if they fit a Jimny).

The Jimny rear axles are different to the Sierra and the studs are in the axle flange, so my Sierra kit doesn't fit directly. However a lot of the parts should be the same and it may not take much to make it work. Checking this out is on my to-do list, but I haven't got a Jimny axle to measure.

If anyone has an axle shaft out to change rear wheel bearings and could take a measurement for me I can check out what it would take to make a kit to fit.

Your kit should work Ben. They will have to machine down the axle flange to fit a rotor. The only other issue will be to check at what position the caliper sits as this may foul the chassis panhard rod mount.

Joe, do you know how the offset from the wheel mounting surface of the axle to the end of the axle housing compares between the Jimny and the Sierra?

If this is the same then it should be OK pending clearance to panhards and shocks etc, but if its different it will either require some caliper mount spacers or new brackets depending on the offset direction.

Looks to be clocked 25° to 30° different from a Sierra.

I need the dimension between the two faces shown in red in the picture.

Thinking about this a bit more, and looking at the pics Joe posted, I remembered that my Sierra kit also fits a coily, so there should be no problem with clearance to panhards etc. The coily axle flange looks to be clocked at about the same angle to the Jimny in Joes pic too.

Is it worth doing a Full-Floating axle conversion? I found a zanfi kit, but is hugely expensive.
