Hey guys. Found a bullbar for my vitara. Only question is will it fit? I've got a 92 model swb and the car that it is coming off of is a 99 swb. I think it's a 1.6 as well. Dont want to do a 400km round trip to find out it's gotta have more spent on it to be modded and I dont really have the tools or the welding experience to Mod it myself. Cheers

99 is most likely an SQ416 ( first of the GV's).
It won't be a direct bolt on fit, and may even be the wrong shape. It will definately be wider than your 92.

Thats what I thought as well but It looks like a normal run of the mill vitara. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/tumbling ... 1007531060Suppose I'm gonna have to get out with the measuring tape. Anyone elso got a Bullbar they want to get rid of? Need frontal protection of some kind. To many skippy's around.

thats so far from a 1999 vitara it's not funny... should fit any swb 1.6 vitara & that's not much of a bull bar, more of a nudge bar. wouldn't be keen on hitting anything too big with that thing.

lol thats what I thought. Maybe he was meant to put 1989 lol. Honestly some sort of frontal protection is better than none. Trying to find a good second hand bar in the NT is crap. I suppose people just hold onto them.

luke3411 wrote: Honestly some sort of frontal protection is better than none. That's true, but that bar doesn't offer frontal protection. From experience, that bar will fold quickly in a light impact and increase damage to the vehicle, as instead of the bumper taking any impact the bar folds back and hits the bonnet, increasing damage and repair cost. That bar is cosmetic only, (but only if you don't think it's fugly.)

I will agree with you that it looks like shit and just hoping the photo is on a funny angle in respects to the not looking straight (whys the chasis stuffed). I know dont believe everything that you read but the guy said it was in pretty good nik and could do with a coat of paint. Might just lob off the sides and make it into a groovy looking light/nudge bar lol. Shep has offered for me to do some work around his place on my car and I dont mind helping him with his Zook.
