Hi all I just purchased a grand vitara with hopes of lifting it and adding some larger wheels.

Just got under it and realised it has dobinsons rear shocks fitted. they are stamped:

0508 GS57 639F

and

0736 GS57 621

Are these shocks longer than stock or just a standard replacement?

All Dobs should be ok up to 40mm lift.

I had Dobs before and had 50mm lift and where still good but wouldnt go more than that.

What you do is just jack up your vit and see how much extra travel you have, you still would want at least 2" of travel fully extended for flex and also so your shocks dont constantly top out when off road.

Those shocks will suit stock and 40mm raised height suspension.
