Best outcome I can see is 4.6 diffs, 4.1 transfer gears in a sierra case and 33's.
I get 3898 @ 100km/h and 68.8 crawl.
Basically the same outcome for road revs as 33's and a stock sierra transfer and 5.12's, but about 70% lower low range.
Steve.

While the former may have something to do with my aggressive driving, the latter was actually better with 31s IMO. Overall an over-correction, and crap in lowrange, but I reckon my ideal gearing for road would be something like the equivalent of 235s with 5.12s, and transfer gears for offroad. Sorry Darky, I couldn't disagree more with you on this one. A Vitara on stock wheels is geared much better than on 235's in my opinion, especially when it comes to hills on the highway. Fuel consumption is better too.

Your on the west coast, I'll hit up a few wreckers around here first and see what pops up first, thanks though. why not just run with the 5.12?? see how they go to begin with and if its to low then change them out. better than changing them out and then it being to high and having to change them back to 5.12! Something close to 5000 rpm at 110km/h...No thanks buddy, I want something that drives like a stock vit, not a 1.0L stock sierra oh fair enough, didnt realise this was the out come.....yeah good excuse to run a larger set of tires.

Fuel consumption is better too. Apology accepted. For me sacrificing a bit of grunt up hills is worth dropping the revs away from 4000 a bit (with the corresponding drop in fuel consumption) the rest of the time when cruising. Yes the extra pick-up was nice, but for long drives I'd rather not feel like I was about to lose feeling in my entire body from the buzzing. Each to their own I guess.

Just wondering which Transfer case would best suit, a 1L??? (from what i can tell they have 1.4 to 1 in high range and 2.2 to 1 in low)
thats just information from a calculator program ive been looking at. can someone please confirm this?

No, a 1.3 transfer is 1.409 High range and 2.21 low range.
A 1.0 case is 1.59 high range and 2.55 low range.
