Howdy I was woundering with a one inch body lift do I have to lengthen anything like wires or any hoses, any help will be great

Nope it's all good up to 50mm (2") of body lift, after that you start to have a few issues

So if I'm currently running a 2 inch suspension lift with 235s and I lift the body two inchs ill be fine still, was mainly concerned about gear sticks and Brake lines, then I would simply have to modify the bumpers to suit, any idea where I could get a kit from as the LROF is out due to the storms in the states

the bloke who replied first is your best bet.

Usually some jigging around is required for gear sticks to operate normally afterwards. Solutions range from bending and/or extending existing sticks, trimming around the holes in the tunnel and the boots, and trimming the underside of the transfer knob so it doesn't push itself out of 2WD.

Everyone's experience seems to differ, so I can't tell you exactly what you'll have to do.

The instructions that come with the kit from JC are pretty good, and have a read through a few other Vit build threads for an idea of what we've been through.
(oh, and I think in most states a body lift requires engineering approval to be legal.)

Haha I just noticed that, he's where they have all come from and I have shot off a pm to him, it's just nervous thinking about it as its something iv never done and I'm gaining my mechanical knowledge but its a different path. SA for the win hahaha seems we can get away with most things here

yeah cops dont bat an eyelid at 4wds here, ive had them totally ignore huge holes around the gearsticks when i had first done the manual conversion and didnt have the boots or interior bits yet

Gotta love the boys in blue so is a body lift my best option as I want it a little higher and tyre's scrub in the rear at full flex, I no bump stops will help that am just working out what is gonna be better another in suspension or 2 inchs in the body. Wanna get it set up right for the new year and as summers coming too

Get the 2" body lift.

I have a 1995 suzuki jx vitara SWB.

I didnt have to replace anything. (Other then the Gear stick boot)
But... My brake lines are a little tight, and the dif breather (factory) came off the diff
Any higher then that and yes.. you will have to replace items

Worst thing about the body lift is you will probs need a ratchet strap for lining up one hole.. (Me, Dark, and a couple of other guys had to do the same thing)

Ok then are you also running a spring lift, as I'm running two inches, I read though yours looks good mate and I mite just have to trim the boot : P and I may just have to move my lines alittle if its tight on full flex. And ill sit down and read your thread u got a nice rig as I see I just want a bit more hight and the tyres to slip in under the body as they just catch on the lip under the guards

Yeah the body lift will defs help with your tyres,
Im running the 235/75's as well and theres pics on my build showing the change with the body lift at full flex.
Im also running 2" king springs, and commo shocks. (So around the same as you)

Most times the issue causing the hole misalignment is the steering shaft pulling the body forward as it goes up. If you remove this, or at least undo it the body should go up straight.

Also the front brake lines, loosen the fitting going through the guard and rotate it so that it points down.

What about the rear and the gear sticks Greg ??? Thinking I may just o ahead with this think it would look nice with four inches just wanna make sure its done right

Rear brake lines (at the rear) don't get stretched as they run along the chassis from the front.

Keep an eye on the handbrake lines (unbolt from the crossmember) and fuel filler tube (unclamp while you're lifting.)

Some people get away with trimming a few mm of the rear edge of the holes in the tunnel and the plastic trim for the sticks. I wasn't happy with it, so got my sticks bent to clear properly.

Bending the sticks I think would work the best however trimming would be the simplest

Nah, it's not that hard. We're just trying to let you know exactly what you're in for so you can deal with things before they become problems. That's the beauty of hindsight!

Allow a weekend in case you get stuck and can't get it done in a day and have to ask for help on here! And do it in a driveway or garage if you can, not on the street like I had to!

I plan to order the blocks tomorrow hopefully they arrive Monday and I can start to put it all together, and I you guys are helping just a little scary to be honest how long did it take u and I will make a spot for it in the garage

I got everything except one bolt done in an afternoon, but getting that last one took most of the next day (hence the ratchet strap comment above.)

Start spraying your bolts with wd40 every day for a few days before you do the install, makes them heaps easier to undo, especially if they're a little bit rusted

well ill be doing it after work each day, and ill start spraying them thanks for that comment. Once I do the body lift I'm also gonna re. Do my bump stops that way the coils won't bind and the tyres should sit nicely into the arch instead of catching

Never done one before and got it knocked out with in 6 hours (With lunch)
