Hey, can someone point me in the right direction as to finding a pair of engine mounts for a 1993 G16b wagon.

Will G16a mounts fit with no issues?

Will VL Commodore engine mounts fit with slight modification?

It seems very hard to source info regarding this.

Cheers

That thread I've already read and is no help... doesn't give a straight answer about anything... Maybe this, maybe that.....? Not going to wait for some aftermarket product to arrive from the US too.

There often isn't a straight answer.
Mounts often differ between same vehicles and models.
Opinions and ideas help, but nobody can give the right answer with 100% accuracy.
I never found any exact info.
My original G16B mounts looked exactly like my mates G16A mounts.
No idea if they were original mounts.
But the later models may be stronger or differ.
The efi mounts I found listed were very dear in most places.
Hense why I did the looking arond as you are.
suzistore has them listed.
4wd products on ebay is very knowledgible

These were hard to get, i had to pay freight to get them in from interstate. suzuki didnt have any when i tried, but their price was dear as.

can't see any reason for different engine mounts between the carby & EFI, LWB & SWB... from what i can work out it doesn't seem to matter when people drop either engine option from any vitara into a sierra so there can't be any difference in the block mounts & people drop LWB G16b's into carby swb Vitara's.

seems logical to me :?

These claim to be efi but fitted to some carby models,
so check your car.
At $99 each, I'd hope you have the cheaper $49 type

I nearly bought them,
but was lucky with the unbreakables.

How much modding did the unbrakeables take to fit? Have they been 'as advertised'?

They can't "break" as such, even if rubber bit was totally stuffed,
as they bolt through a ring system.
Mine haven't broke anything at this stage,
I think they are helping to stop tearing of the tranny mounts as well.

No modification was needed at motor bolts end.
Chassis bolt end is designed to fit the motor to a Sierra chassis,
so that end needs a mount made or moddified.

I chose an easier path, modding the original chassis/engine mount plate.
This was easy, but lifted motor by 20mm.
No issue with a body lift.

Had to trim a little to fit the bracing bars that go to the auto.

Thanks for your help christover1 and others. Going to be getting these as Greg (from 4wdproducts) reckons the g16a mounts won't fit. Well...maybe some though I don't know. It's a complicated topic for sure! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261127369137
