Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a weber for my 97-98 1.3L Jimny but unsure which model to get? Can anyone help me here...I've also read that there are ones for original air filters and others for after market air filters, whats the difference.

Let me give you some back ground on my Jimny....It's been modified for off-road use only with leaf over axles and 35' Simex Centipede Xtreme Trekker 2. The engine is a stock 1.3L engine (dunno the model number) and also a 9500lb winch.

So far this little monster has not given me any problems and my only complain is that it lacks a little bit of power. So, I'm thinking of installing a weber carb for it.

38/38 dges if your chasing power at the expense of economy, 32/36 if you want less power, but somewhat stock type fuel economy.

I run both, the 32/36 is a nice upgrade, but is a bit of a bitch at big angles, so thats now on my vitara, and a 38/38 sits atop my toy. Not fully tuned yet, but goes marder by far than the smaller 32/36, and it seems (so far) no angle issues.

I got mine from Ebay, 2 were australian and 1 was american.

The American one was cheap, cheaper, including freight than the Australian ones.

Thanks for the info....I'll look at ebay for this. Can you let me know the exact model to get (i'm looking at a 32/36) coz there are many different one out there...getting a bit confused.

Here are a few, depends on if you want choke or not.

I do not use a choke on any of the webers I run, even in the dark of winter they start beautifully.
When really cold, below 10°c, you may need the feather the throttle a little when she first fires.

Yes, I'm located in Malaysia......its a stock engine with carb.....not sure if i'm the only one still running this engine but i'm pretty fond of it...its just needs a little more power...

sure you aren't the only one mate, quite a few stock older zooks in sarawak, in miri even saw a few really tough sierras, vitaras and even an aswesome looking LJ, I know there is a place there that specialises in tough zooks
