Whats ya budget? your 2 hundy car has potential to turn into a money pit... eg what are you like on fabbin eng and box mounts / jack shaft will have to have a letter saying its balanced and welded buy someone with a ticket (speeding dosn't count) if you want it back on the road.

It depends how handy you are on the tools and that includes electrics. Even factory north/south motors require some fkn round to work in another car, efi is another can of worms and if you look sideways at an east/west eng then you have to plumb water lines etc for the other end.

If you can do it ALL yourself I would guestimate between $400 to $1200 on top of eng /box depending on efi, jack shaft, clutch or adaptor req and also fiddly bits like rad n hoses, coil, leads etc...

Sorry to be donnydontdoit but the 1l may be a good option - you can always repower once you do the tyres, lift, barwork etc

If your happy doin it yourself then go the 1.3 (maybe 1.6) efi - 8 or 16v, sj or sammy box + transfer n gears and WT diffs

Sorted

OR the mighty 1L may get you going easily so you can have some fun while you source some bits, who knows it might grow on you

There's the cost of a motor and the cost of gettin said motor running (all the little bits you didnt get in the "engine" package) as for wt diff's.... I have no idea of the going rate in Perth as have only been there once a few years ago and I reside in the South Island of New Zealand.... it may pay to hunt round the local wreckers to get an idea on prices

that is actually a V6 not a 350 V8 but still cool.......

Yeah I noticed the funny "not quite a Rams Horn" exhaust manifold after I posted it up but MEH... not like the OP would notice the difference.

He can't see your posts dipshit.

Fwiw, a 1981 Sierra is the worst one you could pick if you wanted to mod it a lot. If it's actually a 1981 LJ then that's even worse, but they're more capable as a stocker. :D

1l engines are the best! Armsup

You are a conformist sheep and you're what's wrong with the world.
