Go and buy a baleno 1.6 and and AW4 and wiring harness from a 1.6 from a vitara. Get a closeoff plate & custom jackshaft, a coily tank, vitara fuel pump, vss, a set of headers and put it all together, fab up the new engine mounts.
Do it right the first time, this setup will be all you ever need now and in the future. Doing this project like this will get it running will teach you the skills to do anything else you need to do on the car. The drivetrain will be sorted from the radiator to the transfer case and you wont have to touch them again.
If you cant afford to do this then get rid of the project and buy a car that already works or get the 1L engine, put it in a leave it there. If you dont do it like this (or similar) your just fucking around and wasting everyones time with your dribble.

Jake terry wrote: So it will work No. And why? Put simply, an engine conversion is alot of work. Why would you go to all that effort for such a terrible engine. I'd say arguably; when in reality, its closer to fact; but the best engine for a sierra on the endlessly sliding scale of effort and cost vs result and reliability, is the G16B. No other engine is easier to fit ( save G13B & G13BB) that gives the near perfect power/ torque for a sierra. Period. If you cannot afford a G16B, save up. Because everything else is either more work, more expensive, or not worth the effort.

My god you are a fucking idiot, you couldn't figure what suspension to use or what a shackle was and now you think your cert 1 in tacking pieces of mild steel together means you're ready to do an engine swap? What happened to the other zook? Or did your all knowing and wise mechanic tell you to sell it and then butcher a 1L? www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq-7P94pUoIwww.youtube.com/watch?v=5hfYJsQAhl0

Just send me $5800 and i will deliver a rusted out shit heap thats broken to you. Its sort of the fast way down the track you are going. Then you can sell that shit heap for $400 bucks and start again by buying a car which is running.
Cert 1 in heavy metal??? is that just like you can tell the difference between justin beiber and bon jovi??
cert 1 are a joke. its saying you can write your name, and wont bring a hammer when asked for a screwdriver.
Enough feeding your inner tard, Back on topic yes you are keen thats great, but listen to everyone else, dont pull the I'll show those cunce on the internet who I never met and never will that i can do it cause you cant, you have no idea. Buy a car drive it then fix it, no point getting a absolute shit heap, spending billions on it to make a shit heap that is just more expensive. So for fucking once just shut the fuck up and listen. Okay.

Experience is gained directly after it was needed.
You gotta have a crack at it else you will never know.
my advice, stop posting untill you have read all the build threads you can find. see what others have done, and decide if you can do it.

It takes a fair bit more work than that to fit that stuff to a 1l!

Wow - I can feel the love from NZ . Apparently you have asked some silly questions before, ones that may imply your ideas outmatch your skill level at this stage. I think everyone that has posted has been where you are now many moons ago and are trying to tell you its just not fkn worth it. If you want to do a resto then thats cool but if you want to modify- by the time you buy the parts individually it will cost more than getting it complete .eg in a road legal sammy I didn't realise the "cert 1 welding"etc you mentioned before was a warm fuzzy awarded for turning up on the day. By all means have ambitions but get a 4wd you can drive from the get go and learn from it. Sorry for feeding the monster

I want your wheels.
An A15 in a sierra as late as yours is an interesting conversion to say the least! From what I understand the 5 speed is mega long and would probably need the transfer moved back to fit? That would be bloody painful to drive with the 4 speed!

Oh I hadn't even noticed how new the car was - yes, that's a weird swap choice - up there with the 18R in a coiler. They were quite a good swap for a 1.0, in fact, I recall there was a LWB 1.0 competing at the first Tuff Truck with an A15/auto in it.

Well with the 4 speed behind it the low end is great but 60 to max speed (100km/h) it's screaming. And the 4 speed box has a universal joint bolted straight into the transfer case. The gap is I'd say about 5-7" from the box to transfer. I think it threw the a bearing in the uni joint so I might have to move the transfer just to get the uni out. I have a picture of the connection but havnt figured out how to upload one. Ill try when I get home to show you after work.
