I was talking to my mate again yesterday and wants me to give him my car for a day so he can have a good look...but he said said the following -

1. What sort of number of people would be interested ? If it's just me it will be expensive. (and I won't get it done)
2. How much extra capacity would everyone be happy with
3. *If* (and a big *if*)he can find that amt reasonably easily would the people interested just want it shipped to them.
4. If there a a few wanting one and he does do them...he won't be doing any others as he is flat out. (always flat out)
5. If there is someone else building one, then he won't be bothered doing it.

Cheers

I'd most likely be interested, but it would have to be a decent capacity. Around 30L or so, I wouldn't bother if it was less than 20L

I recon an extra 20 would do me. The big tyres and extra crap is killing my economy.

There is one on eBay at the moment for $100 (starting bid) apparently its 75l but you'd need a body lift for it

Any news on a long range? I just fitted a g16b to my Jim and I'm in the process of gearing up to do the canning stock route. Anyone interested in doing a trip like this also. Long range would be helpful

Keen on a 60L plus tank. If a body lift is required I won't bother. I could tig up a sweet ally one but by the sounds of it it's not allowed.

Current model Suzuki APVs still have a G16b and Grand Vitaras had them for just as long as Jimny's had the G13bb. :)

Well I got off my ass and gave Paramount my car today for them to have a good look. Good news is he recons he could give an extra (maybe) 30 litres.Would be a separate tank with pumps and shit. (That's as technical as I get) The exhaust would be rerouted.

He said if there were a few people who wanted one...he could fab up everything (tank, bends, etc) and you could do it yourself.

He has fabbed heaps of tanks (but these have been for race cars)

If you want to ask him any questions, go to www.paramountperformance.com.

Cheers.

Guy

Two main questions I think. How much will it cost and then where can you fit a decent muffler if the exhaust is rerouted. Rerouted to where?

I'd say so. The first one would be about $2K. Obviously this one will be the most expensive as that one would incur the development costs. I don't want to pay for all that :-(

After that the do-it-yourself install "kit" would be about $1,200, and would probably get cheaper the more that are done.

Nothing is set in stone though, but he doesn't think there will be any issues.

I asked him about suspension travel but all would be fine.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I will get a rough diagram from him re the exhaust.

Hopefully see him again tomorrow.

Cheers.

G'day everyone,
just joined today. I am looking at buying a 2000 model Jimny and was wondering if there was any updates on long range fuel tank availability.
