Hey guys i have a pair of shagged seats, the cover is the only thing seperating me from metal.

I picked up a pair of Baleno seats (way more comfy).

Has anyone fitted these? Or is anyone able to help guide me througha solution.

The mounting points and rails are all different (position and height).

I'll post pics as soon as i can.

It is a very custom job. i looked into it for a buggy we built and it was a fair bit of work to make up adapters to catch the original bolting positions or to pick up the original rails. In the end the baleno seats got a fair bit of chop chop to adapt in the original mounts to the new seat to pick up the original bolts. please note it isnt a road driven vehicle so none of what was done was engineered.

they are comfy seats tho.

Can anyone here tell me (if there is) what the NSW rules are in regards to engineering and automotive ( obviously) whn i comes to seat mounting and modifications?

As in if i was to make brackets to mount the baleno units does the material/bolts need to be a certain grade or thickness?

Thinkng of using rectangular rhs.

Spoke to engineer at work.

Seem think that because my car ispre 2002, it doesn't need to be engineered for modifying mounts.

Anyone now of this?
