hay will a set of wheels of a suzuki vitara bolt onto a 2006 Mitsubishi outlander? from what i can find i think the grand vitara stud pattern is the same but not the vitara ? is this correct ?

No.

Only the current shape GV wheels will fit. ALL vitaras, and GV's up to 05 are the wrong stud pattern.
