hi guys im having a problem with my car smoking. when i rev it or just driving normally it blows a lot of smoke. i have just recently replaced the valve stem seals because we thought it was that but it has mad no difference i was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so how did you fix it

Blue smoke I'm assuming? How do the plugs look? If you have access to a compression tester that would be a good start.

yes its blue smoke haha and i have done a compression and the compression is fine

How worn are the actual valve stem guides?

valve guide seals i brought a vrs kit and did eveything in that

There's the valve stems seals which are what you have replaced. What jrzook is suggesting is the metal sleeve that the valve stem rides in has excessive wear which could also explain you oil consumption.
Is the blue smoke more when cold on initial startup or worse at high revs? The pistons rings/bores could also be excessively worn. A compression test won't give the full story. There's a few rings and the compression rings may be fine but the oil control ring may be worn or stuck. How many kms are on the engine?

yer ok im not sure on how many ks the engine has because it not the origional the car has 197
|

going through much oil? any odd noise's? proably be worn or a broken oil ring.. as a guess.. In a similar situation myself at the moment wondering which route to go with a rebuild. few threads on smokey motors when you search

It dose go through a bit of oil that's what we are thinking now it must be oil rings so I think I might get one of those eBay rebuild kits what are they like do you know?
