Hi I need some advice please .Our grandson had a slow roll over in our vintara grand a few weeks ago .
I started it up this week after putting new oil in as it lost the oil when it was sitting upside down now the motor has a rattle like lifter noise or something like that .It will not go away .Can anything fall out in the top of the motor when it was upside down ?

Thanking you Ian

how bad is the rattle?

lifter bleed process for the H series engines is 20mins @ 2000rpm

The important question is: How long was it running upside down? Permanent damage happens very quickly.

after the rollover were the spark plugs removed before the engine was cranked the first time ? because when upside down the oil has nowhere to go but out into the inlet tract via the crankcase breather .

Lifters dont bleed down because the car is upside down so i suspect something more sinister.
