hi there my name is tristan slight i live in western australia, australia i have a 2007 Suzuki jimny m13a vvt which i currently converted to a m18a engine everything went fine and ran well it has since done about 2000km since conversion. Today the engine light come on but still runs fine the only thing i have noticed is that the engine at idle is rough and sounds like it is going to cut out. i am little worried that the engine light has come on, does any one know what tools i need to read the engine fault code on this model jimny as i have read its a obd2 on some websites and on others it says obd2 doesnt work with these jimnys. also how i could fix the rough idle would be greatly appreciated thanks

Could be a number of things, but did you use the 1.8 injectors? And in assuming you kept the 1.3 ecu?

Which throttle body are you using? 1.3 or 1.8?

yea all throttle body and intake is 1.3 so i really lost as to what is going on. when i first turned the car over after change over the car reved really high so i backed the throttle cable off and had the idle around 1000 rpm and it sat there ok but it is really rough now any ideas??

There was a guy on here used the 1.3 injectors to get rid of the light... 1.3 ecu basically thought there was too much fuel going through or something along those lines?

Go and get the code read at the dealer. They will have a moan about the conversion probably and insinuate that you've runined it somehow, but they shouldn't charge you just to read the codes and then they'll probably tell you what's wrong with it without you having to speculate.
Dealer will probably get a 'running rich/running lean' code. That's normal for that one to appear every now and again after the conversion. I hope they get another code that tells you what is the cause of the poor idle.
Have you serviced the vehicle? Spark plugs etc? If it is running a little rich, it's no big deal imo but you need to keep on top of the service items. Oil/Filter/Plugs.
