Hi guys and girls !! Ive just seized the block in my vitara wagon and am thinking about going on a grand crusade to convert my 1.6efi to a later model 98 V6. does any body know if it can be done has some one here in Oz done it yet ? & if so whats involved will I need a computer ? the motor I've been looking at has the loom, and I can get the gear box and transfer case as well so would it fit or is there an easier way to fit it ? i.e. put an adaptor plate in & mate the motor to the original gear box ? & will it require engineers certificates later on ? Cheers guy & girls and I hope some has some answers for me...

Whilst anything is possible wih enough time, effort and $$, I don't think there is any point. It will be a very big conversion and at the end of the process you'll have a car that isn't as good as a stock V6 vitara. (Smaller brakes, narrower track, old dash layout, no strut brace- heaps of little detail changes.
IMHO part your car out, keep the good stuff, and buy a complete V6 car to swap your accessories on to. Nom point building something inferior to something Suzuki already built.
