Hi Guys,

I'm having a strange problem with my J20A in my 2002 GV. It has developed a strange sound with the engine running. It is RPM dependent and is definitely in the engine and not in the gearbox.

Here's a video of the sound. It's more higher pitched then the normal engine sounds and is more of a whirring sound. It hasn't affected the power output or driveability but is a little concerning if it's something on the way out.

Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

Thanks.

Temporarily remove the accessory drive belts and see if the noise stops - whilst you have them off - spin the tensioner, idler & fan pulleys by hand - any roughness or noise is an indication they are on the way out.

If the noise stops replace the belts one by one.
