Yes - the blocks are virtually identical - you may need to make other changes like replacing the pistons & rods with 8v versions, you also need to make sure the cam/crank pulley tooth profiles match and that you are using the correct belt.
The g13ba head fits on g16b blocks with 16v pistons
I have a g13bb (with non original 16v pistons) it has a cracked block and was rebuilt 6 months prior to destruction (wasnt mine, I got it for free after I put a g16b in his jimny). Pistons arent dished as much as g16b and I dont know if there is enough valve relief to clear the valves if I was to bolt up the 8v head I have on the shelf. I suspect these pistons are gti pistons, which resulted in higher comp and detonation, which ruined the engine.
From the suzuki data ive collected. The g13b head (gti) has a lot more volume in the head (than vit/baleno/jimny heads), and same comp ratio as them, meaning the g13b pistons come up higher and/or pistons have less dish and valve relief than g16b pistons.
I would expect 8v head on g13b with 16v pistons to be interfence.
As above, you would have to change pistons.
You will need to use the 8v timing cover, you need the g13ba timing crank pulley and harmonic ballancer. You may also need the g13ba water pump pulley (maybe water pump, and timing belt tensioner), and maybe alt bracket depending on offset. the 8v timing belt and cam pulley, and timing tensioner.
bastardising an engine is a lot of messing around to make a g13ba.
