There's a bloke here in brissie that specializes in repairing damaged threads, try searching for someone like that in your area

How dodgy are you?
Years ago I nicely cross-threaded a plug on my old Corona engine. My stepfather fixed it for me by using a file to cut the thread on an old sparkplug so it turned into a tap and then threaded the 'tap' into the block! Worked a treat!
Nah don't do that - Scrawn's advice is better!

Get one of these kits mate Put some grease on the tap and carefully start it in the plug hole. Make sure the piston is at the bottom of the cylinder and drive the tap in as far as it goes In the kit there are a stack of different thread lengths, choose the one that matches the spark plug thread. Then screw the thread onto the plug and screw both into the new plug hole untill it bottoms out. Carefully remove the plug leaving behind the thread in the plug hole. The smooth thread bit goes on the hole first Then stick this bit in the hole taking care to have it square to the new thread thingo and then flog the piss out of it with the biggest hammer you can find. It is a great spark plug fixing kit and only costs $50 so is also great value.

I'm all for people having a go at things but broken bolts or damaged threads usually end in tears more often than not. The guy we use for this stuff is reasonably priced, quick and does fantastic work. I will always recommend using him over a novice having a go, it just gets too costly too quickly

I agree with ya scrawn however the kit I posted is as foolproof as it gets and not everybody has the luxury of being able access a pro thread fixer.
