springs catching on the springs seat, rotate the spring 10mm away from the recess on the spring seat.

My Vitara was doing that, took ages to find it. It was loose body mounts on the rear end. I was lookin at springs etc, too.

on the 500km check up they would have just checked for loose bolts etc, it's quite common for jimny's to make this exact same noise.

none of your jimnys would make this noise if you took ataris advice and fixed it. takes about 30 minutes and two or three beers

i gave up on fixing it and just got used to the noise, the springs do just move around in their seat. every time i go out my rear left will rotate up to a 1/4 turn back to being noisy. i find if i rotate it hard up in the seat its actually quieter longer.

Also makes that noise when the trailing arm bolts are loose.
