What should I know and/or do before driving from Sydney to Melbourne in the little Sierra? Will it be okay driving on highways for long hours? Just need some advice. Cheers.

Haha!! Not so sure about the meth idea.
Service your car (or have it serviced), carry water. I take a tow strap and a couple of D shackles with me as cheap insurance. If you break down have someone tow you somewhere.
I did Adelaide to Perth in one no probs at all. 3000km in 3 days.

I would also put in new leads plugs and keep the olds a spares. I would take some RP7, spare top up oil and a set of tools.

Also wear a mouth guard to stop the teeth chattering.
