hey all,
thanks to Ninjadaniel i got a replacement head light for my vitara, i got it yesterday and it looks to be in great condition::D

so my question for you vitara guru's is, do i have to remove the grill to fit the head light assembly?
i would rather not as if i take it out i doubt i would be able to get it back in, as its kind of bent ahah. ill put up some pictures when i can.

and if you have any general tips to make the install smoother, that would be much appreciated

I'll have to check mine after work, but I don't think you have to. I know my right hand headlight was a pain in the neck to get to, but with the right tools it's not too hard.

Be carefull with the grill if you do take it off. The plastic pins on the top of mine broke

yeah the one that im replacing is the drivers side so hopefully it wont be to much trouble.

I was just having a chat with dad, and from memory you do have to remove the front grill. It's pretty easy to remove, but yeah, take care with the plastic clips on the top of the grill when you remove it.

The bolts on the right hand side are a little harder to get to because you have the windscreen refill bottle in the way (at least on mine it was).

can they list the steps and how long it should take to remove and fit?

i wanna try and get this done for the meet on sunday, and i might be working tomorrow so time is limited.

Gday Mitch i just had a look at mine and yes you do have to take the grill off.
Then it looks like it would be ezyer if you took out the washer bottle then its just four 10mm bolts and the wiring and then ya done

The grill has a few screws in the center near the sign and then clips along the top if I remember rightly.
