if you have a g13bb get a g16b 4 speed auto, don't even consider the rubbish jimny one. bit of work involved but its a great conversion.

by all accounts, the Jimny auto is at the limit of it's torque handling capability with the G13BB - they were designed for the K6A.

There's no parts support for these autos.

*However* with a large cooler and a temp gauge, and appropriate gearing, they seem OK.

I helped set up a car with a G13BB, Jimny auto, 4:1 case gears, 5.12's and 35" Krawlers and the auto has been very good. It's never exceeded 110 degrees, and most of the time offroad it runs under 80 degrees. (At which point, a stock trans cooler in the bottom of the radiator would be heating the trans fluid- I hate radiator trans warmers)

I wouldn't run one with a G16B - the AW-4 would be miles better.

Despite my affection for the Trimatic and the ease of fitting one, it would be impossible to gear a jimny on or off road with one so it's pointless swap.

Steve.
