Nothing wrong with the std one, just get a new sender...

Sierra with 1.6??

use a std sierra sender in the 1.6 with the factory gauge, unless you spend big coin, after market gauge's are shit..

Let the car harness do oil & temp, the ecu doesn't need those two, the ecu has it's own CTS (coolant temp sen) which is the nipple with 2 wire's..

EDIT!! just looked at a wiring dia for a baleno eng, it has a 3 pin CTS & feed's the cluster from that.

Sorta this thread.

My lwb reads really low on the guage at operating tempreture, always has.

I've put a new sender in, had change of dash.still reads at bottom of guage...Works but,I have boiled it once, and guage when right up.

Someone once told me the guage and sender have to have the same resistant?????. I've pulled the wire off the sender and earthed it, and the guage goes right up..

I'd be great to have it reading in the middle like the other old serria's.

bye

I'll be one to chuck the silly questions out there...

Does it have a thermostat installed?

Does the heater work as in hot air coming out?

I have had a couple of my and mates cars thermostats seizing open.

This of course would cause your temp gauge to read low.
