Swampers, many 16" tyres like 7.50's, "proper" treps (i.e the comp treps, sadly only 37" and 40") Creepy crawlers, 'pedes, JT2's, Claws (eurgh) silverstones... there's plenty of bias/crossply off road tyres.

For good reason. Everything that makes radial better on road makes it worse off road.

I reckon 32X9 swampers are a bit small. 9X34's aren't much more hassle to fit but are a much more useful size.

How do swampers go on rock and clay
I wonder how hard it would be to cut the door jam on a vit to get them in with out a body lift

I've never had any reason to complain about the performance of my swampers on rock or clay.

There are better rubber compounds for rock, but the flexibility of the swamper carcass makes them hook up quite well. They are miles better than, say, a 'pede, and that's due to the very stiff carcass of the 'pede. Likewise, the tread is so much more flexible than a radial they can hook up where a radial will bounce off.

As for clay, they don't bite as well as a 'pede, but they aren't far behind. Again, the superior off road performance in other terrains and size availability of the swamper make them more attractive even when they won't quite match a 'pede on slick clay.

In deep clay there isn't really a tyre that works, it's more about tyre size and throttle IMHO.

surely a gaurd lift/chop is required for swamper 34's. They measure a tad over 34 when new

if a manufacturer released a 31x9 0r 7.... i would purchase it, but 32'' is a bit big, i would like a skinny 31'' for the optical illusion of it being a smaller tire.

im looking for something nice and beefy for my sierra in a 235 75 15 i just need that bit more aggressive pattern abit better than my stock toyo A/Ts which go pretty well on it. any suggestions for the 235 75 15 muddies or even better comp tyres?

your not gonna get a comp spec tyre under 37 inches.

Federal Couragia MT are pretty chunky in a 235 75 R15. I'm really happy with mine.
The smallest "comp style" tyre you'll find is a Silverstone Extreme in a 31".

You can get a swamper TSL in a 29x8.50-15LT... There not available in Aus though, and not easy to get from the states either... Slightly bigger than a 235/75-15..

And ETs can be had in a 29.. But as tanshi said, no good for anything other than mud...
