Hey guys,

just found out today that my zook has run out of rego i after any info on how to get back over pit and regoed maybe even a check list of the things the look for

also if people had a list of what i am aloud to do as i think i am going to have to build the zook from ground up

i feel really stupid for letting it run out

How long has it been out of rego? Isn't there a period of 3 months or something that you have till it has to go over the pits again?

From my experience, just go over everything if it's broken fix it, if it's dirty clean it. If you present them with a clean car that doesn't look like it's just spent the last 20 years of it's life in a wrecking yard then they are more likely to give it the ok.

aparently the 3 months was 13 nov i neva got anything in the mail at all

so just rebiuld the car ground up then really

If your car is that bad that you need to rebuild it from the ground up, it's probably a good thing it's out of rego.

Do you have any mods on it at the moment?

Edit: Just had a quick look at your build thread, are those seats approved? are your tyres sticking out from the guards? might need to fix that first.

at moment 2 inch lift that is saggy and 30 inch tyres that is about all but the body is rough and wire looks untidy

Yeah you probably won't get passed on those seats depending how well the guys does his job + the 30's might be pushing it too. I'd see if I could swap them out for stock ones.

have a look on the website! its www.transport.wa.gov.au there is heeps of info on there about what exactly is inspected when they do a car inspection. i also found some checklists a few months ago when i was looking at getting a shitter (vitara) i had licensed (turned out it had a bent chasis so i just sold it)

first of all

you use that thingo to tell ya when ya vehicle license expires

here is a PDF of a basic checklist of what to do before you take it over the pits!

go through and make sure all the basics are done! and try and tidy it up as best you can! make sure its clean and tidy! then take it to the pits with your fingers crossed! chances are it will fail the inspection and they will give you a "pits list" detailing all the defects that they have noted, the advantage of this is that you take it home and repair everthing on the list and when you take it back all that they will inspect is the items on the list! the better that the car is presented, the less picky they are likely to be with the inspection!

also i have a full set of standard SWB springs (saggy as) and 205s on rims ya can borrow if ya want, while you put it over! and if the racing seats meet design standards and apear to be mounted securely and without welds you may get away with it.
but if not! suzishop sell retrimed sierra seats for about 400 bucks a pair, and they look and feel great to sit in, they might even buy ya racing seats of ya!

if ya get a chance! have a chat to the bloke before he does the inspection, tell him the industrie you work in that will get ya browny points

high pressure underneath and tidy it up as much as humanly possible
then get your mum or dad to take it to midland pits(they go easy on olds).
because suzistore is right next door they get heaps of zooks over so generally they are a little more forgiving, just shut your mouth and let the guy do his job he wont want to talk to u till after the inspection.
then get everything on the list done asap and make sure u pay for your inspection prior to your inspection time
