I'm doing a the 1.6 conversion at the moment and my sierra extractors are "tuned" 4 into 1 style.
The ones off the donor engine are "Tri-y" style. Now too my knowledge, "tuned" are better for top end performance and "tri-y" for low end and torque.
Has anyone managed to try both on the 1.6 and would the difference if any be much?
I'll probably try the "tuned" ones that are on my car first anyway.

the difference would'nt be noticeable, maybe on paper it is. or you might feel a slight difference in low down torque if you really try and feel it.

Std Sierra to a 1.6 mate you will think it is a V8 anyway.m If it was and EFI you would think it was turbo as well. Enjoy... but use it for the right reasons.

I've got extractors on my 1.6 carb and haven't noticed much, it revs freer and it gives out a much nicer exhaust note but that's about it

4 into 1s are not as good as 4-2-1 for torque but better on the freeways, quality is never really there with mass production you rarely get match porting.
