How much more does the update XL7 put out than the 2001, also can you bolt update Plenum thingy straight onto a 2LV6, 2.5V6 and the early XL7?

127 to 141KW pre and post update for the H27 (or similar), so significant, but there's a bunch of changes. The "update" motors run a bigger exhaust, and I expect a bunch of other small things. The butterfly would require control from some inputs in the ECU, so it wouldn't be a bolt on - you'd require the ECU from the "update" 2.7 motor to get the increase.

I suppose if you knew the conditions the butterfly opened at, you could use an aftermarket switch to control it, but I bet theres more than one parameter. (i.e it would be RPM+Throttle position, or RPM+MAP, not just RPM)

There was a pre and post update H25 too. You can spot the later H25 cars - they have quite a fat exhaust tip with a funny bend right at the end. I don't know if the late H25 cars have the butterfly too.

I have the updated more powerful 2.5 with fully sick bigger exhaust But it doesn't have the extra butterfly.

1. it balances the left and right plenums

2. it increases the volume of both plenums.
