That's the 4AGE, a fairly common swap.
You'll need a T50 gearbox (or a jatco 3speed auto)
Have a search on outers. There's a fair bit of info on there about the swap. Dank is currently building a 4AGE 20V/3speed auto sierra. The build thread is on outers too.

You will need to ditch your sierra gearbox and use a toyota T50 box. They come from the RWD sprinters.
The sierra box will hand grenade in minutes with a 4AGE or GZE.

It's not an easy road...I've been at the conversion going on 18months now...time flys.
tonight I managed to test fit the body with the motor, box and transfer all bolted in. The fit looks good, enough firewall clearance with room in front for a radiator, just, but the 20v manifold is massive and even with 2" body lift will have trouble clearing the bonnet. My zook is spua, there is a guy on 4wdmonthly forum who has a 20v swb sierra with coil prado diffs, lots of fab work.
Minimum for this conversion:
-Motor and ecu and all other components, AFM, Ignitor, Sensors etc
-T50 gearbox from rwd corolla sprinter or Aisin-Warner A40 3spd Auto from AE71 corolla.
-If going auto you need 8 bolt crank driveplate with 6 bolt torque converter bolt pattern
-You need to fab up engine mounts and gearbox mount. This can be a bolt on affair of adapter plates off standard 1.3 chassis mounts.
-You will need a jackshaft made up, one end toyota input into whatever geabox and other end zook flange to bolt to tranny. A good driveline specialist will charge around $300 to make this up. worth spending the money on.
I just started the wiring tonight. looks like i'll be cutting the loom down dramatically to reduce to an engine loom only.
The end is near... Good news is that the A40 auto is perfect fit for standard sierra gearbox tunnel.
My only concern is the shift points for the cable operated Auto with such a high revving motor. it's going to be an interesting outcome and I cannot wait
The 1986 MR2 motor...is it a carby motor? if so....wiring will be easy. There are easier conversions out there but if you have the motor there then all you need is a gearbox which go for 200+. My auto cost 200 + $760 for full rebuild and line pressure increase for a snappier change.

Cheers mate , great help . Not sure if a carby or not ? But will find out in few days , am I able to use the mr2 gearbox because my mate said I can have the lot , full car, spare motor $ 1000 , and a mate wants the body.
Bit it looks like I need a new car to do this rebuild hehehe
Oh well have to buy another zook hahaha I'll keep your posted I'm sure if I get this motor I'll be picking your brain

The Intake manifold sits up about 1-2inch higher than the top of engine/rocker cover. Due to the angle of the motor/gearbox its only about 3-4 inches of the top front of the intake manifold that may be an issue as the bonnet sweeps up from that point.
I can shave it and reweld as the top part is steel, its no problem just an observation I made last night.

Yes that 20V car has a coily front clip, I know of another one with a 20V and a normal WT front clip, I didn't think there was a lot of space difference under the bonnet
Ths pic shows that the bonnet bracing has been removed but the WRX style scoop is toward the back of the bonnet and doesn't aid in clearance. It is just a left over from the top mount intercooler that was on a supercharged 4AGZE prior to the 20V
To keep Shep happy I will close the bonnet and take another couple of pics to show that the engine clears the bonnet and that the hole and scoop do not assist in that clearance.

yeah they seem to start from a higher point though, the front corners are about the same height but the middle seems to be slightly higher.. would have to take some proper measurements but the coily engine bay and bonnet is actually longer due to the grill bending out futher.
these two cars have the same bumper mounted the same way notice the gap behind the bar the wt has that the coil doesn't

Saam you are correct the cowl panel is higher on a coily they do not need to be as low because coilys do not have a folding windsreen but the turbo 20V pictured actually has coily guards and front and a WT bonnet because a coily bonnet wont bolt onto a WT due to the difference in cowl height.

torque is an issue, they are as bad as rotaries for torque. and they develop all their power up past 5k rpm. cams and timing change can fix that though. It would make a ball tearer of a zook though if you can get it crawling nice.
