what year/model, did you get an size comparison pics between the 2 with the boots off?

Nice work mate...... now you just have to sort out the drivers side.....

Seems we both have the same idea just different ways of going about it.

I believe NH,NJ,NK,NL series pajero runs the same DRIVERS SIDE CV. Nah didn't get a comparo pic, will do that when I pull the boots and regrease em. The Pajero inners only run a 3 bearing setup, feels shit compared to the 6 bearing like the outer and vitara cvs run.

Cheers B4T, that is the drivers side. CV's are going to be identical both sides so I can get away with 1 spare. Will have to run a 30mm spacer on the passenger side though.

so it is. Threw me a little as you had it bolted to the middle axle in the first 2 pics.

Yep, it will bolt to the stubby. My diff is out atm because I snapped the fkn cast diff drop....

Yes custom diff drops are on the list as well...there's not much that's easy about modding the gvs beyond springs and shocks

Don't stress too much klutched, if you've seen the result of every build dans "attempted" you know it'll never get there.

Unless of course Sam is the one doing the work, in which case it'll be a work of art.

The time delay with doing these CV's is some of us have a day job and a family. When im not spending time with them I get to play in the garage or go wheeling and wheeling it is way more fun that building stuff.

plus parts don't just appear out of nowhere.. (well one Paj CV did... :roll:

) and some bits can be hard to find.

More progress, these are aftermarket Pajero CV's. They're heaps easier to do the conversion on than factory ones. Put the diff back in and dummy fitted up the passenger side CV. 15mm spacer in between and fits awesome. Driver side is about 3mm too long!!!

So gotta figure something out there.

They are bolt in for use with the stubby conversion so run the same cv on both side with a spacer on the long side. So they are the spline of hat ever stubby and diff you run. For the gvs its 26sp vit diffs

Hi guys, where has this all ended up?.
I've not wheeled my GV quite as hard as some of you guys seem too!, but dropping down to 4.875:1 diff ratios (from 4.3:1 in my 1999 V6 manual - steel diff in the front already - yea) & an air locker going in both ends - I'm nervous that my previous perfect reliability in the CV area (touch wood) is going to go out the window.
What is the best solution - Ranger, Lux or Paj?

Lux if you address the width issues. You will need aftermarket lower control arms to get the extra width required for the axles.
