The inlet manifold on my Sierra has a brass fitting where the heater hose??? connects and it is badly corroded, it looks like it is pressed in, are these parts available as a replacement and if so how hard are they to replace?

I don't know if this is of any help to you but there is a perfectly good inlet manifold at the chandler refuse centre that I accidently chucked out 2 weeks ago.....

I don't know of any replacement parts for this. Either get another manifold, or take yours to a machinist and get them to make a new brass pipe.

had a similar problem on a bmw the other day..
i removed the press in pipe. and tapped the whole and fitted a bew brass fitting that screws in.

worked a treat.

Thanks all for your help, looks like I will have to chase up a manifold if the bodgy job I did on it doesn't hold!

You can look out for a G16A 8 valve manifold too. I reckon what 89 posted above sounds like a great idea though.

What sized tap was it?? Would have been a decent size?

The longer you leave it, the more rubbish you're gonna have to sift through at Chandler dump....
