yeah mate heaps of things have changed..
keeping ute break up with my ex.
and now the baleno gearbox is really getting tired. so its a pretty logical decision.
and for time frame... ill be doin it tough without a car so the sooner the better but a week give or take.. will be fine for me.
regards, ben.

your going to need quite a few things done.

Below are the main things you need someone else to do apart from physically installing the motor which is actually a fair bit.

1.) Adapter kit (BenT's kit seems the most preferred option)
2.) Extractors (AFAIK vitara manifolds do not clear the engine mount)
3.) Sump and oil pickup modified
4.) Water outlet at the back of the head modified (or blocked off and a jimny intake manifold)
5.) Modified wiring loom
6.) Sorting out the distributor (unless you have the coilpack version of the motor)

What kind of budget do you have?

$1500
ill buy the adaptor kit from benT
and get the extractors sorted.
also to keep the cost down i should be able to come over and help when needed.
also who ever does it can keep the 1.3. its a go-er

Don't forget you will need either a efi tank or some sort of inline pump system with maybe a surge tank.

i was just going to use the baleno tank. the donor car is complete and running.
the ute is a trayback so surely we could fab some brackets up so it can sit under the tray.

Can you pull the baleno motor and loom from the car?

Is the ute currently running?

I think id rather let the person doing the conversion handle that. if needed i can though
and no the utes not running do have a car trailer though. its got a spark issue that i frankly cant be stuffed trying to fix anymore. same with the on going carby annoyances.
