hi guys so my vitara is making oil, or to be more to the point i am getting fuel in the oil. replaced fuel pump as i thought the diafram might be leaking fuel into the head but its still happening and i think it is running out of the carby when the motor is off.
when i turn it off i can hear a pressure releasing kind of noise straight after the motor stops. so i pulled the fuel feed line off the fuel pump and let it run dry and the noise didnt happen.

is there a fuel cutoff solenoid or something that may be jamming? its a 92 standard carb model. thanks in advance boys.

There is a idle stop solenoid, but I can't see that doing what you have described..

How's your tank return???

hmmm haven't checked... you recon if it is blocked the pressure may force fuel into the intake manifold when i turn it off?

my sierra has developed carb problems also, not having a good run, it will idel for about 3 seconds then starve and die. if i pump the accel it will rev up but then it starves and dies, the only way to actually drive it is to constantly pump the accel down, its as if it is using that bit of fuel thats pumped in then starves and the next pump puts some more in too keep it going etc... recon its on the idel screw side of things? purhaps i should buy your webber and just bolt that on...
