hey all or weaves ,quick question.just wondering if anyone could tell me the right size seal for the gearbox on my zuk.I am losing a fair amount of oil out the back down my jackshaft and onto my exhaust whenever i go up steep climbs out 4x4ing.

i bought the gbox as a reco about 1 n a half years ago and replaced the seal then as it leaked a little from the start but all my local shop had was a thinner one,i think around 7mm thich not 10???? i am thinking maybe thats not helping being thinner on the climbs but it should still work,ill suss is out more once its out.

Are you sure it's not coming out the g/stick??
If it were the seal it would leak just driving around to..

i paid about $3 last time stekky but as u say it maybe hasnt worked.

well i was assuming the shifter too,cos of how i can degrease it drive round town for weeks and not get a drop.then go fourbying or playing on angles and it leaks.

yesterday it was hot as hell under there when i checked and muddy so couldnt really tell but it looked like it was just flying out,like a constant stream down the jackshaft when i parked it on the hill?????????wasnt cool.

how would i go about this shifter problem if it is it?

a couple of mates that were with me just suggested it could be with added pressure or something when on hills and i just believed it could be the case???

its pretty common for em to leak out the back on a hill, can you fit 2 7mm ones in there? pack a heap of grease between them if you can

You could gold plate them and fit em inside a climate controlled hermetically sealed room and somehow, it would still be dodgy

or i could just buy a 10mm one and try one of them again?i will wash it and get under it tomorrow and have a look and see what options i have.

it is a fair stream flowing out and quite dangerous on the exhaust i guess haha.

Mine's been like that for week's........

I had to use 2 on the transfer rear out put yoke, gen leaked, non leaked, so I used one of each..
Not a drop.
Have 2 gen G/box seal's sitting next to me waiting to go in..

Have you actually sealed where the gearstick enters the box?

if your talking to me Jr?you mean the top plate on the box??where the shifter and so on goes into the box?

im fairly sure i would of used something on it when i got the reco box back.i normally do things as proper as i know how anyway haha.But it hasnt always had this problem and yesterday was the worse ive seen it.

once i get 5 minutes tomorrow ill wash it,degrease it and go from there even if i go park it on a bank n wait for it
