So last night I tried to turn on the heater for the first time in ages, and it didn't work!

Today I checked the heater fuse, it's fine. It's only the fan that's not working. Not on any setting.

Any suggestions? All my searches returned the opposite faults, fan working but not heating.

Heater is aimed at feet/demist.

Sigh, I hate electrical crap. Where abouts are the fan speed resistors/switch?

i've had 2 issues with mine:

1- cable came off at the engine side of the firewall stopping it putting the coolant through... put it back on and worked great.

2- loose wire to back of heater unit stopping fan working - tighten screw = working great.

My fan stopped working, and all the fuses were good, so I took apart the switch and cleaned it, that fixed it.

I just cleaned the copper contacts with an eraser, got them all nice and shiny, then put it back together. The switch is a pretty common fault, especially if you do not use the heater often, and you have a lot of moisture/dust.

The switch is behind the panel with fan speed settings, you can take it apart with three Phillips screws. Just be careful not to loose the spring and ball bearing that are inside the switch.

You can test the motor and wiring by jumping the switch the wires over at the connector on the back of the switch. If you can get it to run by jumping the wires, then you know the switch is dirty/broken.
