Hey all, as the title says, what's the length of the dipstick for a stock engine in a 1990 wt?

If anyone could measure it that would be great, just incase I have some aftermarket shorter dipstick and the engine is only burning oil because the level is too high!

I'm pretty sure if its a 1990 it'll be a G13BA, mine certainly is... Anyway, I'm at work but I'll measure it when I get home...

The other option is, do an oil and filter change then put 4 litres of fresh oil in it. Then she'll be right.

Thanks lads, I'll go have a look after dinner or in the morning. I just had a mate who was driving behind me on the way home, pull up at the lights beside me to say "I can smell your rings burning there mate!" so I assume the problem is getting worse because you couldn't really smell it before :(

Ok so it turns out mine is 306mm for just the metal part of the stick. Which from the replies here seems standard.
Bloody thing is worse than a 2 stroke that means, as I've gone from top dot on stick to just touching the stick in half a tank of fuel!

Next time I put fuel in it, I'll top the oil up and then measure the drop and check the km it's done.

Also still trying to decide what engine to put in, I was all excited about a 4age (or a 4agze but I am too poor for that) but now I'm again of two minds. I'll have to bring up all the pages with power/torque figures e.t.c and weigh it up for benifit vs trouble.

EDIT: I do remember having to put in more than the 4 litres of oil when I did the oil change, though a mate of mine who was following me reckoned the smell is horrible from the burning oil, and when I lift off coming down a hill, he could see smoke but from the breather not just the exhaust. If it's coming out the breather it's most definitely rings, I should borrow a compression tester.

Does anyone know the correct volume of oil for a G16B with a G13 sump?

I've been using the G16B tube and dip-stick.
