Hi lads,

I'm scratching my head here trying to work out how the soft top sits over the top of the windscreen. I've got it clipped on, on both sides, but that's about all that's holding it in place.
I've got some soft rubber that sits on the top of the windscreen and a hard piece of plastic that the plastic strip on the softtop slips into... But that's just sitting loosely.
I've tried removing the soft rubber and sliding the hard plastic strip (with the soft top plastic strip already in place) onto the windscreen, but it won't sit and keeps popping up.

Any help, or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I can complete all the steps, except step 1.

"Center the plastic strip and slip only the plastic into the
channel along the top of the windshield."

What channel? :S

you should have a plastic strip running along the top of your windscreen from one stud to the other. maybe it missing?

If it's hard plastic, then yeah I have it.
Is it meant to be attached? Because it comes right off for me....

OMG is it's meant to be glued on, isn't it... Then the plastic part of the soft top sits inside of it. Is that right?
But then where does the weather stripping (soft rubber) go?

On the soft top there is a hard plastic strip that slides in sideways into a metal channel on the top of the windscreen. No glue at all.

Does your Sierra have the metal channel? Where abouts on the northside are you? I could have a look if you like? PM me if you would like a hand

Hi mate, thanks for the help. I've got the hard plastic strip on the soft top, but unless I'm missing something incredibly obvious here, I don't have a metal channel on the windscreen panel in which to attach it.

No, I don't believe so. Cheers mate, I might take you up on that offer. I'll take some photos first and put em up tonight. Hopefully it'll be obvious to everyone what I've done wrong. :S

I've been looking for examples online, but can't see a single up close shot of the windscreen anywhere.

The 15mm or so strip attached to the front of the soft top slides inside a plastic C channel piece that is screwed to the top of the windscreen frame just in front of the rubber. Check the top of your frame and you'll probably see several small screw holes.
I have a few here if you can't find one closer.

Ahhh that makes sense then.
The frame doesn't seem to have any screw holes, but the plastic C channel piece DOES.
So it's actually plastic, not metal then?

I guess I can just drill some holes through the panel and attach it then.

The channel is plastic. It screws to the metal window frame.

Ok so here's the plastic c channel you were talking about....
It has holes already drilled in it.



And here's the windscreen panel...




I'm guessing I should be drilling downwards into the panel?
