Gday guys, ive just spent the last week doing a g16b convertion on my sierra and im now having trouble getting the thing to start. the moter itself is a tbi motor out of a swift and is fully rebuilt, this will be its first startup :D. i have spark and fuel but im guessing the timing is out somwhere? because it keeps backfireing out the throttle body :x ive checked that the dizzy isnt out by 180 degrees and am about to check that the timing belt hasent skiped a tooth or somthing? would this affect it ? Is there anything that you guys could suggest to get my zook on the road sooner. Cheers guys any advise will be greatly appriciated :D

check your timing, and check to make sure you have all the wiring correct.

Check this.

I'm not sure what distributor you will have but on my 1.6 the dizzy is tilted to the opposite side of the head compared to the g13. In this redesign the dizzy drive comes off the opposide side of the cam shaft, which means it spins the opposite direction. Which of course messes up your firing order if you miss it.

got it going yay :D but now have a few other problems, it seems too be over fueling and not really wanna rev, power is also way down because of this. has anyone got an idea of what the pressure the fuel should be at the throttle body and do i need to run any kind of fuel pressure regulator? also it seems to heat up really fast, can this be caused by the over fueling? cheers guys
