Does anybody know if an lj81 cab will fit onto an lj50 or lj80 chassi ? Will it bolt straight onto the existing body mounts ?

Give me a few weeks (hopefully) and I'l be able to measure.

I reckon the back wheel will get in the way of the cab though.

Thanks for the pics rustyzook. I am thinking of doin the same thing but with an lj. I have found a good cab with minumal rust and i have plenty of swb ljs with rusted out bodies. Was it pretty much a straight swap ?

I can measure the mounts on my LJ81 cab if you want.

just straight on, the rubber was close to the cab, spoa fixed that and moved the diff back a bit, wouldn't do spoa on nt again tho, was scary as fuck

If you drew a horizontal line between the front and rear body mounts the distance would be about 850mm. The 2 rear mounts are 1100mm apart.

But you should just send the cab to me!

I reckon it should fit just looking at it. I thought somebody would have to have done it before, was kinda hopeing someone might dig up some pics. I reckon postage to W.A. would be a killer.

i cant see why they would change it as the sj410 are the same with swb and lwb to the mid (swb body) or rear (ute) cab mounts so mine was an easy bolt on

but check wheel clearence! i belted the seams flat on mine !



and because i like to be a pic whore, you could build out own ute, something like the new one in progress

Yep. I reckon cab will be close to rear wheels. Hopefull get the cab home this weekend and check it all out then.

you can re drill spring pearches and move diff back, long bumstops and 2" bl will sort it, mine never hit SUA with the 2" bl and 30 but it was like 10mm off spoa and 31's no bl and it would just touch, re drilled perches and never happend again

Mine measures 1000mm along the bottom of the sill from the firewall to the end of the sill.

The rear body mount is right at the back of the cab, if your tyres aren't touching the chassis outrigger then you'l be pretty right.

I wish I could find a good LJ81 cab!
