hey all, had a search but came up empty

just put in a new headlight as my last one the reflector has detached from the body.

its just sitting high, is it just a matter of turning the top adjusting screw anti-clockewise? i tried to turn it on headlight that i removed but it was hard/forced.

do i have to pull it up or move it somehow, before it can be adjusted?

cheers
Mitch

Its as simple as adjusting the 2 screws, if they are really hard to turn, you may have to loosen then up a bit with some CRC/WD40, as they were set from manufacture, and are probably caked in crap... but yeah, just find a deserted road, and adjust the screws, just make sure they dont shine in peoples eyes on low beam...

I assume the Vit headlight have sideways adjustment but I can’t find them? Finally fitted the Brighteyes loom that has been in shed for too long matched with some new Phillips globes – the lighting is awesome but just not pointing where I want it.

Vit headlight will have two adjusters on the back - they will look like small bolts with large toothed washers below them - there should be parallel plastic ears maybe 3/8" apart above and inline with the bolts - the idea is that you use a flat screwdriver inbetween the plastic ears to engage the toothed washer and rotate the bolt - they are usually on diagonally opposite corners of the housing, so if you have found the up/down one, you know what I'm talking about, just look in the opposite corner.

There should be L<->R and U<->D markings - but be warned - on my GV one of the markings is backwards.

Thats what I get for making assumptions - my apologies - the screw you have tagged as horizontal is most likely it - the vertical adjustment goes down and most likely rotates a gear and a second screw, which as I mentioned is in diagonally opposite corner to the other adjustment.

It's possible that the adjuster is stripped - and something else I would check is that the bulb is correctly located - I have a Pajero iO on which the driver's side light would not "take" adjustement, and after much fiddling I discovered that a previous owner had managed to get the bulb "cocked" at an angle.
