I posted this here because in the n00b section it states (no flame zone) so... flame on! bearing --> collar --> brakes = wrong order

I'll put this one down as you focusing on the main job and forgetting 'minor' details.. I've done that before but it's one of those things that you won't forget not to do again. Lessons learned the hard way rule

Disc rear conversion would negate that issue. So would 1.0 Litre backing plate type design.
I'm told you can convert, but no idea how its done.

If it's freshly pressed on, you can press it off. Been there done that

BAZZOOK wrote: btw. these guys are good. Hartnett drive. http://www.frankstonbearings.com.au/yeah I know them. but I was at work in Springvale trying to get this all done without a press. I finished the job now (making a new problem with the brakes) I used a ball pein hammer as a punch and a little bit of a bigger hammer to strike it either side of the collar or bearing to get the job done. took a very long time :S like over an hour. also striking the collar sort of mushroom headed it but angle grinder fixed that, pretty sure that the oil seal won't run on that bit this was a bigger job than i had anticipated akin to putting gears in the t-case so probably should have made sure I was in the right workshop for it.

The bearing butted up to a shoulder on the axle flange that made me think twice about trying to pressi t off with no press also cbf
