Go spoa works very well I wish I did it ages ago but people convinced me not to spua works well but got to a point where I wanted more and couldn't do anything elce unless I spoa it depends on how far you want to go /money you want to spend and if you plan on keeping it for ages

By doing spoa does it need wrap bars, high steer etc I assume that spoa nd 2 inch suspension lift will be the equivalent of spoa nd 2 inch body just the chassis will be higher Or am i better off doin spua and 2 inch extended shackles Planning on keeping it for a while as its a project car nd almost completed 1.3 conversion Want to run maybe 32"s with cromos nd reduction gears

You will need wrap bars and high steer yes, among other things and a bunch of work. 2" suspension and SPOA is about 5-7" of lift, depending on springs and your perches. (Which is ridiculously high and unnecessary) You're better off SPUA, 2" suspension, RUF in my opinion.. Bennyzarb wrote: spua works well but got to a point where I wanted more and couldn't do anything elce unless I spoa I wouldn't listen to this guy. I would compare my 2" lift and RUF, twin locked and geared to a locked and geared Patrol, Hilux or Rodeo on 37's. The thing that let me down most was wheelbase, and SPOA will only make that worse. EDIT: for now, get your 1.3 in, SPUA with WT diffs and learn how to drive in it.

To spoa properly is a lot harder than you think. For the time and money spent doing it (properly) you would be better off coiling your car.
If you're trying to achieve a capable, stable car that works well, spua with ruf is the way to go. Have a look through some of the build threads to see what people are doing.

Why do you need the extended shackles? How are you going to correct the caster on the front end? Are you running modified shock mounts to allow the extra travel possible with extended shackles?
Steve.

Unless you are going to use a longer than typical spring, or moving spring mounts I wouldn't bother with extended shackles, they're not particularly useful. This thread is worth having a look at.

I just wanna lift it but not rediculusly 2" is good but id like just that bit more so i can have a bit mire belly clearance so i thought 2" extended shackles would give that extra height

That's something we can all agree on. it will only be cool if he has your mad fab skills, other wise its a buthurt wobble car! mate keep it spua it works better! more options and at the end of the day the cops are going to leave you alone! plus COG is lower and you wheel lift over everything instead of rolling over everything.

Belly clearance is so much better SPOA with flat springs. Used to get stuck on rocks under the belly, now it just drives over everything. Did NT with WT diffs with RUF and Missing Links front, drove it on the road, Went "Jesus Christ this is shit". It was easily the worst thing ever. Drove it over some rocks and trees and down ditches and through ruts and all sorts of crap, Went "Holy shit this is the guts".
SPOA needs extra work, lots of it, to make it even decent if you plan to drive it on the road.
If you go SPOA I cannot stress the difference a panhard makes. Went from undriveable on the road to something I can let other people drive. Even Subaru drivers.
Anyone want to let me drive a decent SPUA rig? I drive like a dick and have no skills except finding the deepest hole. You can have a go of Pikachu too if you want. You will hate yourself for liking a rotary though.

Subaru Drivers are the new Volvo drivers.
Next time you see a car parked so crooked you can't park next to it. Look at it.
It will be a Subaru.
My wife has one.

ajsr's rig is spua and 36s, gregc's rig is big 35s spua, gwagens is 35s and low (previously spua) . i havent seen ajsrs in the flesh but i have seen gregc's and gwagens and theyre pretty cool. its well documented you dont need lift to fit tyres so whats the point. i have rolled mine on 32s spua, i feel like its too tall haha why the fuck would you want a tall spooky ghey looking car.
